The Second Chance Collective serves adults age 18 and older who are committed to living a substance-free lifestyle and are seeking the tools, support, and guidance needed to build a better future.
We work with individuals from many different backgrounds and life situations, including seniors experiencing homelessness, people returning from incarceration, individuals transitioning from mental health treatment, and others who are ready to rebuild their lives and step into their second chance.
• The Second Chance Collective serves adults age 18 and older who are committed to living a substance-free lifestyle and building a better future.
• We provide the tools, support, and guidance people need to rebuild their lives and move forward with stability and purpose.
• We work with individuals from many backgrounds and situations, including seniors experiencing homelessness, people returning from incarceration, individuals transitioning from mental health treatment, and others who are ready to step into their second chance.
Individuals who are unwilling to live a substance-free lifestyle while receiving our guidance and support are not eligible for our program. We are also not the right fit for those who consistently focus on problems without being willing to work toward solutions, or for those who refuse personal responsibility and are unwilling to participate in their own growth and change.
We understand that life can be complex and that many situations require compassion, patience, and sensitivity. At the same time, we do not believe in enabling unhealthy patterns or excusing behavior that stands in the way of progress. Our goal is to support individuals who are ready to embrace accountability, growth, and a genuine second chance.
Our mission is to reduce recidivism and break cycles of homelessness, instability, and institutionalization by providing access to safe, stable, and substance-free housing for returning citizens, individuals transitioning from mental health institutions, and others seeking a true second chance. Through structured living, workforce development, education, employment support, financial literacy, childcare assistance, mentorship, advocacy, accountability, and life coaching, we empower individuals to rebuild their lives, reintegrate into society, and become independent, productive members of their communities.
A community is only as strong as the people within it. When we help the most vulnerable among us find stability, hope, and a real path forward, we strengthen the entire community. When our neighbors succeed, our streets become safer, our families become stronger, and our children grow up with more hope for the future. Investing in second chances is not just about changing one life — it is about creating a healthier, safer, and more united community for everyone.
The Second Chance Collective is a community-based reentry organization that connects participants with sober living homes and sponsorship support. Individuals returning from prison without family support may qualify for automatic sponsorship, provided they meet program requirements. For questions about housing and current bed availability, please call (386) 500-1110.
At this time, our transitional housing and sober living partners are located in Volusia County and Flagler County. As we continue to grow, we look forward to building partnerships in additional areas so we can broaden our reach and serve the greater good.
There are many meaningful ways to support The Second Chance Collective beyond making a financial donation. You can become a Second Chance Employer in Volusia County, volunteer as a mentor, or offer professional expertise that can help empower the disenfranchised and support lasting change.
